KATHUA, Dec 20: The Mahasha Biradari held a protest demonstration in front of DC office Kathua in support of their demands . They were demanding to replace the word Doom from official records to Mahsha for Schedule Caste community.
While addressing media person Raja Ram, Mohan Lal, Som Raj , BDC Chairman Sandeep Kumar said that the J&K Government has designate the Mahsha word for Schedule Caste community. But now after declare UT of J&K ,it is written as Doom which is objectionable to community . They said that such words were used in very olden times. “Now we are living in 22nd century of Modern Era and J&K past Government already replaced it with Mahsha community in Schedule Caste certificate. They submitted a memorandum to DC Kathua and demanded to remove this objectionable word from Government records.
