Police arrests 2 drug peddlers, seizes 13 grams of heroin

SAMBA, Dec 7: Acting sternly against the drug menace and its propagators, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered about 13 grams of heroin (Chitta) from their possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur.
Police said a team of PS Vijaypur led by Sub Inspector (SI), Sudheer Singh Charak and SI Shubham Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Ms Priyanka Kumari, during patrolling near Tarapur, Vijaypur, intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK08M/0905 for checking.
During checking, approximately seven grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the rider whereas approximately six grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of pillion rider.
The accused rider identified as Zakar Hussain, son of, Shera resident of Karandi tehsil and district Kathua whereas pillion rider identified as Mira Bakhash, son of Ali Hussain of Kathua.
The accused persons have been arrested on the spot and the contraband item along with motorcycle has also been seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No 190/2022 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and further investigation started.
