BJP Core Group meeting today

JAMMU, Sept 11: In order to discuss the prevailing political situation and organizational matters in connection with observance of fortnight long party programme (Sewa Pakhwara) beginning from September 17 to October 2, BJP is holding the Core Group meeting here at party headquarters tomorrow afternoon
According to party sources, the meeting will be presided over by BJP J&K president, Ravinder Raina and party co incharge J&K Ashish Sood who is reaching here tomorrow morning to attend various party programmes. He will also attend the meeting in which threadbare discussion will be held on prevailing political situation in the UT especially the opposition parties outbursts on registration of non local voters.
Sources said the party will devise a future strategy on the issue to counter the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) and take a strong stand in favour of the registration on non locals including West Pak refugees, Valmiki Samaj and Gorkhas as voters who have been deprived of this right by the Kashmir centric parties for decades together.
Sources said party is committed to grant of voting rights to these communities as this has been their Constitutional right and no infringement on the same will be allowed. Any citizen of India can cast his vote in any part of the country and no body can deny him of this Constitutional right, the party sources added.
Sources said this issue will figure in the Core Group meeting tomorrow which among others will be attended by party general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma ,general secretaries, Dr D K Manyal, Sunil Sharma and Vibodh Gupta, former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta, national secretary, Dr Narender Singh, former Minister, Sat Sharma, Sunil Sethi, vice president, Shakti Raj Parihar, former Minister, Priya Sethi, senior party leader and National Executive Member ,Dr Darakshan Andrabi and party spokesman, Ajay Bharti.
The Core Group meeting will also discuss the coming fortnight long programmes of the party beginning on September 17 with birthday of PM Narendra Modi and concluding on Gandhi Jayanti falling on October 2. As during this fortnight -the birthday of former Jana Sangh president, Deen Dayal Upadhyay also falls on September 25 the party will launch various public welfare and service programmes in this period including holding of blood donation camps, medical checkup camps etc besides, making mass contact programmes with people at booth level to apprise them of various public welfare schemes and projects launched by Modi Government, sources added.
Sources said the Core Group will have a follow up of preparedness made by the party for the Sewa Pakhwada, booth rationalization and booth management. Though the Government has not made any announcement of the Assembly elections in the UT till date, however sources said that party has already made preparations on its level with best booth management and any shortcomings in this regard will also be assessed.
Sources said besides, with the delimitation of the constituencies and carving out of new constituencies in the UT, the Core Group will also discuss the formation of new Party Mandals and booths which have been necessitated by the formation of new constituencies in the UT.
In addition to this various organizational issues will also come up for the discussion and the recently held programmes by the party in different parts of UT including Kashmir will be reviewed.
Moreover, sources said as the personal rapport with cadre and workers is more important and a corner stone for victory in the elections, the Core Group will also devise a strategy as to how the rapport between senior leadership and cadre is increased.
