JKPCC employees seek release of pending salaries

Srinagar, Aug 22: The employees of JKPCC Limited under the banner of Workers Union Kashmir Province today held a protest against the failure of the authorities in releasing their pending salaries.
In Srinagar, the protest was held within the premises of the Office Complex JKPCC Ltd Haftchinar, while in Jammu, it was held in the office premises of JKPCC Limited at Dr. Ambedkar Chowk Rail Head.
“The protest was held because of the miserable condition of employees who have been put to distress due to non-release of salary and the condition is that the School going children of the Employees have been threatened by the School authorities to discharge their wards for non-payment of School Fees for last three months,” the employees said.
They said that they are not able to arrange medicines for their ailing elders due to financial distress for which the prior request was sent to the JKPCC management for the immediate release of salary.
“The same has also been assured by the Hon’ble Advisor (B) to Hon’ble Lt. Governor J&K U.T to Managing Director J&K PCC Limited but till date, no salary has been released,” they said.
Employees requested the Lt. Governor J&K and the concerned higher-ups to come to their rescue and take measures for the release of their pending salaries.
They said that various Government Departments owe a huge amount of Rs. 184.00 Crores for the completed/handed over projects executed by the JKPCC Limited for which the Government has been apprised by the management.
