On second day of his visit to Kishtwar, Justice R C Gandhi, a retired Judge of the State High Court, met senior officials at the Tourist Reception Centre in the town, official sources said.
Former Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Saleem Mohammad and ex-SSP (Kishtwar) Sunil Gupta also deposed before the Commission.
Both of them had been shifted from Kishtwar in the wake of violence in which three persons were killed, 20 injured and some 150 business establishments and vehicles were gutted or extensively damaged.
Sources said the Commission recorded the statements of Saleem and Gupta besides some other officials and stakeholders. He also met the present officials of civil and police administration to inquire about the happenings.
The Commission was likely to record statements of more people in the coming days.
On August 23, the State Government had ordered a judicial probe into the violence, which erupted on August 9 by a retired judge of the High Court.
The Commission, which also assessed the damage to property during its visit to violence-rocked areas, was asked by the Government to submit its report within a month. However, the Government in formally issuing an order and providing a copy of it to the one man Commission consumed much time.
Over 50 rioters have so far been arrested in connection with August 9 vandalism.
