JAMMU, Sept 10: Accusing Bharatiya Janata Party of orchestrating communal riots in Jammu and Kashmir to satiate the power hunger of Narendra Modi and his cohorts, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today warned that National Conference will not allow this sinister game to succeed.
“Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is desperately activating its cadres and cajoling BJP  to create a situation where there is blood bath between Hindus and Muslims, resulting in total polarization”, Mr Rana said while addressing a workers rally at Panchayat Nandwal in Raipur Domana Constituency.
Mr Rana said that time has come for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to see through the nefarious designs of peace inimical elements, identify them and isolate them by foiling their agenda. He said political elements like PDP have a clandestine agreement with BJP to polarize the political atmosphere ahead of elections in a bid to divide Hindu and Muslim voters for sharing these between themselves.
“National Conference won’t allow this to happen”, he said, adding that his party will work as a bridge between various communities and play its time tested role of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and amity.
Referring to the recent Kishtwar incident, the Provincial President described it most unfortunate and said this should have not happened and should never happen again anywhere. He said the sagacious political approach and administrative acumen of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ensured restoration of early peace.
However, Mr Rana questioned the role of PDP into the incidents and motive behind the visit of Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly Sartaj Madani, who is the maternal uncle of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, to Kishtwar a couple of days before the incident under the garb of his party’s Foundation Day. He wondered over the motive of his two hour long breakfast meeting along with local MLC Asghar Ali with local BJP leader Sunil Sharma in Kishtwar Dak Bunglow. “What was discussed and what was decided during the meeting should come to fore”, he said, adding that the leaders of both the parties owe an explanation to the people.
Mr Rana said that despite their clandestine moves to disturb peace, BJP and PDP will not cut ice with the sagacious voters of Jammu and Kashmir as their area of influence is restricted to chosen few areas. He described the machinations of the two parties reflection of their frustration on the face of growing acceptance of the policies and programmes of National Conference by the people of the State. He warned leaders of these parties not to undermine the political wisdom of the people and said that they can differentiate between right and wrong.
Those present in the meeting included MLA Poonch Aijaz Jan, District President  Satpal Lakhotra,   ex- MLC Th. Kashmir Singh, Block President Bhalwal KD Singh, besides Mohinder Singh, Raj Kumar Choudhary, Ram Saroop, Pankaj Kohli, S. Gurmeet Singh and others.
