Manohar conducts public grievances camp

KATHUA, Sept 10: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma convened a public grievances camp at Kot Kasba in tehsil Hiranagar to assess the problems and demands of the people.
The Sarpanchs and Panchs of  Kot Kasba, Badholi, Noni, Lokhdi, Sprain, and adjoining areas apprised the Minister of their problems and demands which were mainly related to adequate drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, replacement of old electric wires,  provision for animal dispensary, shortage of ration supply, pending MGNREGA payments,   demand of electric poles and early completion of  water schemes. The people of the area also demanded road connectivity for Kot Kasba.
The Minister instructed the officers to look into all the issues highlighted by the people and take appropriate action for redressal of the same.
Dr Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that with the liberal funding from Central Government a number of welfare schemes have been launched for the upliftment of weaker sections of the society. Besides, Coalition Government is keen to mitigate the sufferings of the people to improve their socio economic condition.
The Minister directed the officers to start the work on Panchayat Ghar in Sprain Panchayat. He also assured that relief/ compensation for rain and flood affected families will be provided after completion of assessment of losses.
Dr Sharma also announced Rs. 6 lakh for completion of Water Supply Schemes and repair of roads. He directed PDD officers to issue 13 electric poles for Sprain  Panchayat.
Among others ADDC Kathua Rohit Khajuria, SDPO Hirangar Mohan Lal Kaith,  P.O DRDA  Vikas Gupta, XEn PWD, Assistant Director, Fisheries, Kathua, Chief Project Officer, Fisheries, Kathua, Tehsildar Hiranagar, District and tehsil officers Panchs and Sarpanchs and large number of people were also present on the occasion.
