JAMMU, Sept 9: Pakistan Army today opened firing at four places in Pallanwalla sector of Akhnoor tehsil along the Line of Control (LoC) violating ceasefire agreement. This was second ceasefire violation in as many days.
Official sources said Pakistan Army resorted to firing at forward areas of Nathu, Kulian, Sangam and Gigrial Forward in Laukikhan battalion area of Pallanwalla sector at 5.20 pm today. Pakistan used small arms fire and automatic weapons.
Indian Army retaliated effectively. Exchange of firing continued till tonight.
“There were no casualties or damage on the Indian side,’’ sources said.
Yesterday, Pakistani Rangers had violated ceasefire at Maljodha in Pargwal area of Akhnoor along the International Border.
