RAJOURI, Sept 9: Two children aged six and four years respectively died after their house collapsed due to heavy rainfall this morning in village Baglakote Swadi, Ward No 1 in Tehsil Koteranka.
They have been identified Mohammed Sadam and Mohammed Sultan sons of Mohammed Rafiaq. The two brothers were alone in the house as their father who is working as a labour had gone on his work while their mother and two sisters had gone into the field.
The reports said that the house was newly constructed by Rafiq but it could not resist the heavy rains of last night and collapsed in the morning killing the two children who were inside the house at that time.
Soon after the incident the team officials and police led by Tehsildar Koteranka Israr Ahmed and SHO, Bashir Ahmed rushed the spot and brought the dead bodies of the children out from the house. They were buried by the relatives and villagers later.
The pal of gloom descended on the village over the tragedy and the people have appealed the authorities to sanction ex-graita for the poor family.
