ACTF delegation calls on IT Commissioner

JAMMU, Sept 9: A delegation of Associated Chamber of Traders Federation (ACTF) led by its president Y P Gupta today called on Commissioner of Income Tax, A K Thatai and apprised him of the difficulties of the trading community in filing the audited income tax returns by due date—September 30, 2013.
During the meeting, the representatives of traders highlighted the issue of recent disturbances in Kishtwar district due to which curfew was imposed in Jammu province and the traders suffered heavily on account of Bandhs and curfew.
An assurance was given by Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu to the traders’ representatives that their demand would be conveyed to the higher authorities of the Income Tax Department for taking a suitable decision.
During the meeting, Commissioner of Income Tax also reminded the representatives of traders that the due date of depositing advance tax by the assessees is falling on September 15, 2013 and they should educate their members to pay advance tax correctly in accordance with their estimated income for the current financial year.
The representatives of traders assured the Commissioner that they will convey his message to their fellow traders for fulfilling their obligation.
Those who were present in the meeting included Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner (Hqrs) and the traders delegation apart from its president comprised of Neeraj Anand, Attar Singh, Ajay Mahajan, Om Parkash Mahajan and Choudhary Charan.
