Computers donated by Army lying in teachers’ houses

MENDHAR, Sept 9: The computers donated by the local Army Unit about 4-5 years ago under ‘Operation Sadbhavna’ to Government High School, Kassalbari, Zone Mankote, meant for the school children, has been lying in the houses of the teachers and the students of the school which are 257 in strength are suffering.
According to the reports, out of the six donated computers, four have been lying in the house of teachers of the School while the two others, though in the school are yet out of work as all their accessories have been drawn out.
The locals alleged that they complained to the Headmaster of the School and concerned ZEO many times but they never listened to us, which forced us to approach the SDM Mendhar, Romesh Kumar, who directed Naib Tehsildar, Mendhar, Shahad Latif Khan, to hold inquiry in the matter.
The Naib Tehsildar along with Sarpanch and Panchs of the area paid a visit to the area and found allegations true. He also found that the raw food material meant for the mid-day meal was stored in the unhygienic condition and the pots used for the making mid-day meal were appearing as if that were never washed. The villagers also told the Naib Tehsildar that mid-day meal is provided only twice in a week to the students of the School.
He prepared a detailed report and submitted the same to SDM, Mendhar, today.
