IGGDC organizes seminar on ‘3D Printing Technology for Dental Implants’

JAMMU, May 1: The Postgraduate Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, IGGDC Jammu, organized a seminar on the topic “3D Printing Technology for Dental Implants”.
In the seminar, a lecture was delivered by IIT Jammu faculty, Dr V Raj Kumar (Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering). He was accompanied by Prof Anju Chhada and Dr Shantanu, senior faculty of IIT Jammu.
The programme was initiated by efforts of Dr Prof Azhar Malik, HoD, Postgraduate Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, in which MoU signing was also discussed between two institutes. This is in context to develop atmosphere of research in the Postgraduate programmes of Dental College.
The programme attended by all faculty members, graduate and postgraduate students, was coordinated by Dr Rachna Dhani and Dr Shameem Anjum, Assistant Professors in the department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, IGGDC Jammu. Dr Ajay Kumar (Associate Professor), Dr Rudra Kaul and Dr Ravinder Kumar (Lecturers), Dr Kanchan Bhagat (Senior Dental Surgeon), Dr Ashish Choudary and Dr Sukhbir Kaur (Registrars) contributed in various capacities towards the programme.
Welcoming the material sciences team from IIT Jammu for collaborating and coordinating with faculty and students of IGGDC Jammu, Principal Dr Rakesh Krishan Gupta said this endeavor from both sides will expand horizon and open new frontiers in making this institute as research hub.
“The similar collaborations are planned in near future with institute of excellence like IIIM Jammu, Central University and AIIMS Jammu with IGGDC Jammu,” he said, while adding that these kinds of collaborations will open the vision and perception of our students towards research.
