Vikar for speedy completion of Polytechnics

Srinagar, Aug 30 : Minister of State for Technical Education and Power, Vikar Rasool today directed the officers to speed up the pace of work on the new Polytechnics so that the infrastructural augmentation of technical education is done.
The Minister was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the status of construction of new poly techniques in the State.
Secretary, Technical Education Parvez Ahmad Malik, Director Technical Education J P Singh, Chief Engineer R & B Kashmir Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, other senior officers of technical education and Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) were present in the meeting.
Vikar asked the officers to work in close coordination and synergize their efforts for ensuring the timely construction of these institutions so that the student community living in rural and far flung areas of the State gets benefited from these. He said that the augmentation of the infrastructural capacity of the technical education would also take place, which would go a long way in providing the much needed technical trainings to the youth of the State who can then start their own entrepreneurial units and contribute their bit in ensuring the socio-economic development of their areas by generating the employment opportunities.
The Minister also directed the officers of the Technical Education Department to prepare a comprehensive list of the 6000 students under SDY so that they can be sent to outside for technical trainings.
It was given out in the meeting that an amount of Rs.135 crore has been given to the State for constructing different Polytechnics across the State.
