Committee framed to enquire into Nyoma KGBV issue

SRINAGAR, Aug 30: Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan has constituted an enquiry committee to look into the complaint of alleged misappropriation/embezzlement of public money by the officials of Directorate of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in the construction of KGBV hostel at Nyoma in Leh district.
A spokesman of the School Education Department said that enquiry committee comprising Executive Engineer, SSA, State Coordinator Gender, Chief Education Officer, Leh and Accounts Officer, SSA has reached Leh and is likely to submit the report within next couple of days. “The action warranted under law will be initiated against the erring officials after getting the report from the committee”, the spokesman added.
He said that the matter was taken up by the District Development Commissioner, Leh with the Secretary School Education during his visit to Leh and it was decided to refer the case to the State Vigilance Commission for investigation.
Subsequently, the case was referred to the SVC on July 29, 2013 with a request to register an FIR against the SSA officials, who were involved in construction of KGBV building at Nyoma. The State Project Director, SSA was also asked to provide the list of such officials to the Vigilance Organization.
