Mumbai, Aug 20: As part of ‘Operation Sadhbhavana’ the Pir Panjal Brigade of Indian Army has organised a National Integration to Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad from August 10-24, 2013 for 24 selected youth of Kashmir. The tour was flagged-off from Kashmir on August 10, 2013.
This unique initiative by the Indian Army is with the aim to give adequate exposure to the youth of Kashmir valley and introduce them to the diversity and rich socio-cultural heritage of our nation.
The team first visited Pune, where they saw Aga Khan Palace, National War Museum, Patealeshwar Caves, Mulshi Lake and Dam, Saras Garden, Raja Dinakar Kelkar Museum, Bund Garden, Vishram Bagh Waada, St. Mary’s Church, Parvati Hill Temple, Jawarharlal Nehru International Stadium, Shinde’s Chhatri Katraj Snake Park. They also visited Symbiosis Institute and celebrated Independence Day with children of Army Public School Pune.
The tour reached Mumbai on August 17 while at Mumbai, they visited Chaupati, Marine Drive, Mumba Devi temple, Gate way of India, Taj Mahal Hotel, Fashion Street Near CST, Mumbai Film City, vis to film studio, Hazi Ali mosque, Nehru planetarium, Vis to Bandra worli sea link, Hanging Garden and other places of tourist interest. They also interacted with the GOC Mumbai Sub Area Major General Avinash Singh.
This experience will facilitate in widening the horizons of the youth and apprentice drivers and will provide them an opportunity to witness and appreciate the diversity of our country.
The tour proceeded to Ahmedabad on August 19. Finally the tour will be flagged in at Rampur, Kashmir by Major General VG Khandare, General Officer Commanding of Dagger Division on August 24.
