JAMMU, Feb 25: The Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu, Prof Bechan Lal today released a book, titled, ‘Demystifying Jammu: History, Heritage and Culture’, authored by Dr Sindhu Kapoor and Asst Prof Shalini Rana.
The book was released in the Vice Chancellor’s chamber in the presence of Dean Academic Affairs Prof Bhopinder Singh, Registrar Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Deans of the various Faculties, Dr Sanjay Verma, Dr Zubair Kalis, DSW Dr Twinkle Suri, Principals of all the constituent colleges of Cluster University of Jammu, Prof Ravinder Tickoo, Prof Sangeeta Nagari, Prof Kulwinder Kour and Prof Ranjeet Singh Jamwal.
Prof Bechan Lal congratulated the authors for spearheading the task of exploring the soft power of History, Heritage and Culture of Jammu region. He extended his full support to the faculty in coming up with more such relevant and academic projects in future also.
Earlier, at the beginning of the programme, Dr Sindhu Kapoor dwelt upon the academic journey of the book and also threw light on the importance of documenting tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Jammu.
The occasion also marked the release of compendium of the activities of School of Sciences entitled ‘Routing through the Roots’ by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Bechan Lal.
