JAMMU, Aug 12:  National Panthers Party leaders Prof Bhim Singh and Harshdev Singh have demanded imposition of Governor’s rule in the State.
Prof Singh who called on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi last evening, apprised him of the dangerous situation that has arisen in J&K due to the total collapse of State Government headed by Omar Abdullah following Kishtwar incident. He alleged during meeting that there was no governance  in the State  and it is free for all the communal  and anti-national elements all over the Jammu Pradesh which has been a great foundation of secularism.
The NPP leader accused the ruling NC and BJP of communalizing the situation as it suits both the parties in their electoral permutations. He strongly demanded that imposition of Governor’s rule was the only solution for restoring the confidence of the people in the governance.
Meanwhile, top NPP leadership has appealed the people of Jammu region to continue peaceful bandh till the Governor rule is imposed in the State. Harshdev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Yash Pal Kundal-all MLAs, Faqir Nath (Ex-MLA) and others in a joint statement have appealed the people of Jammu region and especially the youth to continue peaceful bandh  till a logical conclusion is drawn. They said that promulgation of   Governor’s rule is the only option to save the people of J&K from further death and destruction.
They alleged that communal harmony in the State stands threatened under the present Coalition Government. Resignation of a Minister or transfer of district officers is nowhere near the solution of the entire problem. They strongly  pleaded for  imposition of Governor’s rule in the State. They also sought a high level inquiry by a High Court or apex Court Judge.
