KATHUA, Feb 12: Union Minister of State in PMO with independent charge of Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that after feeling the heat of security forces and local police the terrorists are on run in Kashmir and hence they are hitting soft targets.
Talking to media persons at the sidelines of launching of Doctor on Wheels an ambulance equipped with latest technology of Telemedicines here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said in desperation terrorists are hitting soft targets as they are under constant pressure from security forces and police.

He was replying to a question regarding the yesterday’s terrorist attack on policemen and CRPF jawans in Bandipora district of North Kashmir in which a cop lost his life and four others were injured.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that our jawans are capable to deal with militancy and all type of threats of modern weapons and other tactics adopted by the terrorist outfits.
“Our jawans have frustrated their designs as the Government is committed to wipeout terrorism from J&K and it (terrorism) is in the dying phase now”, he said. While referring to the cop who attained martyrdom at Bandipora yesterday, Dr Jitendra Singh said that being a son of the soil he laid down his life for the unity and integration of the nation.
In response to another question regarding some reservations expressed by the people in Jammu region against the Delimitation Commission report, Dr Jitendra Singh said that being the Associate Members and MPs they will submit their note containing inputs and suggestions of party workers and leaders in different constituencies on February 14.
The Union Minister said that the inputs are being compiled after being received from the party workers and leaders in different Assembly segments and a comprehensive report will be framed which will be submitted to the Commission on Monday.
Dr Jitendra Singh said the Delimitation Commission will take the cognisance depending upon laid down parameters and guidelines. He said the draft was handed over by the Delimitation Commission to Associate Members but the final report is yet to come.
He said before that “We are getting the objections of the people as per their aspirations and the same will be submitted to Delimitation Commission which will take the cognisance as per the laid down parameters and guidelines”.
Dr Jitendra Singh earlier, while launching the Doctor on Wheels at Gowdam in Keerian near here said that Doctor on Wheels is the part of Narendra Modi’s Mission to develop health sector in the country through digital services as was announced by him from the ramparts of Red Fort during the Independence Day function.
He said the ambulance will be equipped with latest technology of Tele Medicines. He said the Nodal Officer can connect individually with senior doctors in Corporate sector at Hyderabad and Bangalore with the help of Tele consultation.
Dr Jitendra Singh said the ambulance can make thorough check up within one hour with the help of latest technology set up in it. “Such type of testing and check up will be very costly in private hospitals which the poor people living in far flung and rural areas of Kathua or any other district of J&K can’t afford”, he added.
He said as there are very poor health care services in these areas the people can now get benefit through this ambulance at their door steps.
The Union Minister said that in coming years the latest technology will be introduced in health sector after the launch of 5G Network and the patients will have the choice to select a doctor for the Tele consultation to get their disease diagnosed.
Earlier, first free Tele Camp was launched in Doda district by the Minister in which 189 villages were covered and 3600 patients were benefitted.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that this will be followed by launch of Artificial Intelligence for diagnosis of diseases and Robotic medicines in the UT. He said this way the poor people living in the far -flung and remote areas of Kathua district and other areas of UT can take the benefits of the latest technology in Health Sector which they otherwise could not afford in private hospitals. He said this all has become possible with the visionary leadership of Prime Minster, Narendra Modi who is totally concerned for the welfare of the people especially those living in far-flung and remote areas of the country.
Dr Jitendra Singh visited at Gowdam which is being run by the Sewa Bharti and also planted a tree. He said youth under the various startup programmes can start their own ventures to have a good earning. In this regard, he cited an example of opening of dairy farms by some youth in Jammu who are getting a genuine income. The same can be done by the youth in other parts of the UT, he added.
Later, while inaugurating the ‘Sansad Khel Saparda’ at Sports Stadium Kathua, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that from last eight years, the Government under PM Narendra Modi has taken hundreds of new initiatives, started new schemes and new flagship programmes in every field for the welfare of the people.
Dr Jitendra Singh further said that the Government has thrown open the Science & Technology and Sports fields for the youth of this country. He said that PM Modi has given a new direction to the field of Science and Technology with a focus on Startups which was evident this year on the beating retreat ceremony where ‘Drone Light Show’ mesmerized the whole nation by lighting the sky with Tricolor.
Dr. Jitendra Singh also said that the second field which is highly prioritized under PM Narendra Modi is the field of sports as sports is seen as a career now & parents want their children to excel in sports as sports is seen the lucrative source of livelihood also.
The Union Minister said that this Sansad Khel Sparda will instill a sportsman’s spirit among youth at a larger scale and they will be able to connect to their representatives, sports ambassadors for their mentorship.
Dr Jitendra Singh urged youth to excel in sports as the third largest stadium, Arun Jaitley Stadium is being constructed at Hiranagar, whose real beneficiaries must be the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
