SAMBA, Aug 5: Senior Congress leader, Rani Gargi Bloeria (MLC) has demanded upgradation of power infrastructure to improve electricity supply position in Gurha Slathian, Ramgarh and Vijaypur areas of Samba district.
Addressing monthly meeting of the Panchs, Sarpanchs, farmers and women besides party activists in Vijaypur today, Rani Bloeria alleged that there was long power curtailment in this entire belt and the people are suffering a lot. There was dire need to improve the power infrastructure so that adequate power supply could be ensured to the public. She assured the people to take up the issue of installation of 6.3 MVA transformer at Ramgarh and 10 MVA at Vijaypur and enhance supply position at Gurha Slathian as well.
The Congress Legislator also demanded up-gradation of road from Vijaypur to Ramgarh as it was not in good condition while traffic volume was high. She pointed out that link roads in many rural areas of this constituency were still in bad condition and they need improvement and up-gradation. Rani also demanded proper upkeep and improvement of the shrines like Baba Sidhgoria (Suankha), Baba Chamliyal in Ramgarh, Purmandal, Uttervahni, Chichi Mata etc. The MLC sanctioned Rs 10.50 lakh out of her CDF for installation of poles/ wires and other infrastructure to improve power condition in the area.
She also appealed people of the area to strengthen Congress Party at the grass root level and get ready for the coming elections in 2014. Congress district working president Sujan Singh Slathia, Sarabjit Singh, Ajit Singh Rehmat Ali, Tarsem Verma, Shiv Kumar Choudhary and Lamberdar Balbir Singh also spoke on the occasion.
