SAMBA, Aug 5: A youth who was drowning in a well at Budhwani village near the town here this morning, was rescued by police and locals of the area.
Reports said some passers-by heard the screams from an old deep well at Budhwani at around 8.30 am today. They saw a man floating and crying for help. They raised alarm and brought ropes and bamboo stairs. The police also reached there after some time. The youth was then rescued with tough efforts. He was identified as 28-year-old Deepu, son of Pappi Kumar resident of Budhwani in Samba. He had slipped into the well accidently.
