CTA delegation calls on Kansal

JAMMU, Dec 23: A delegation of College Teachers’ Association (CTA)-Jammu led by its president, Dr Rakesh Jasrotia met Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department (HED), Rohit Kansal and discussed the various issues of college teachers with him.
The issues raised by the Association included restoration of incentives for higher qualifications of MPhil and Ph.D, Review of unjustified Government Order No. 201-JK (HE) of 2020 regarding notional benefit from the date of eligibility of placement to over 139 faculty members, clearance of placement cases to AGP 9000, enhancement of age of superannuation at par with University teachers, implementation of UGC Regulations 2018 in toto, hassle free permission for pursuing full time Ph.D. and study leave thereof as per UGC guidelines 2018, delegation of powers to Director Colleges, post of Professor for college teachers under CAS as per UGC guidelines 2018 and implementation of a transparent and rational transfer policy.
The Principal Secretary assured that the requisite demanded by the Finance Department in the issue of incentives for higher qualifications shall be immediately sent and as far as the review of the Government Order No. 201-JK(HE) of 2020, all possibilities shall be explored for undoing the injustice. He also agreed to immediately send the placement cases to AGP 9000 to JKPSC without any further delay. Besides, he gave a positive response to other demands put forth by the Association.
He impressed upon the faculty members of various colleges to work hard to ensure NAAC Accreditation of the Colleges in J&K. He discussed the issues like implementation of NEP 2020, NAAC accreditation of the exiting colleges, learning outcome based Teaching with the delegation. Rakesh Badyal, Additional Secretary HED and Majid Bhat, Director Finance HED were also present during the meeting.
The other members of delegation included Prof Amit Kumar Sharma, general secretary and Prof Mohd Qayoom, finance secretary CTA.
