Committed to reach unreached segments of society: Dr Meena

SRINAGAR, Dec 23: Regional Director IGNOU Dr Kamlesh Meena today said that they are committed to fulfill the mandate of University to reach the unreached segments of the society and enlightening them with the blessings of knowledge, skill development, academic excellence, professional enhancement, vocational skills and entrepreneurship.
He was speaking during a promotional-cum-interactional programme organized by IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar at Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina (Srinagar) to extend the benefit of higher education to the masses of Srinagar city through prospective learners support centre of the University.
The programme was organized by Principal Prof (Dr) Manzoor Ahmad Lone of Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar for the purpose of having the establishment of a learner support centre (LSC) at his host institution. Regional Director, Dr Kamlesh Meena delivered a lecture about the role of IGNOU being played in Kashmir valley which caters almost 50000 learners in a year for different cycling of admission offered by IGNOU particularly masters degree programme.
Dr Kamlesh Meena assured the Principal of the host institution that all support and cooperation will be provided to the proposed coordinator for the smooth functioning of the proposed learner support centre which will be notified by IGNOU Headquarter on the recommendation of Regional Centre Srinagar. He expressed confidence that this proposed LSC would cater the aspirations of higher education seekers especially oppressed, depressed, deprived, marginalised and economically backward class societies and will shape their dreams for availing higher education and to empower them.
