Mystery shrouds young lady’s death, people block NH

KATHUA, Nov 18: A young woman who had delivered a baby nine days ago died in GMC Kathua under mysterious circumstances this morning where she was readmitted some days back after complaining regular stomach pain.

The family members of deceased woman Mangi Devi, resident of Barnoti accused the hospital authorities of her death and they alleged the woman died due to negligence of doctor who did not take care of her after she delivered a baby. The family members, relatives and villagers took the dead body of woman in the middle of National Highway at Barnoti and blocked the road for one and half hour and held strong protest against the GMC Kathua.
The BSP State president, Som Raj criticized the GMC Kathua authorities for negligence towards poor patients. He said that nine days ago the lady had delivered a baby in GMC, Kathua after cesarean. But few days later she complained of regular stomach pain.  She was again admitted in GMC Kathua. Due to lack of proper treatment and negligence of doctor she died this morning mysteriously, the protesters alleged.
The doctors made excuse of Dengue like diseases.  But she
died for want of required treatment, they said.
They protestors shouted slogans against hospital authorities.  The traffic was suspended on the road as the people sat on dharna. A police team led by DySP Kathua reached on the spot and assured the protestors that administration will take the necessary action in this matter.  The traffic was restored later after the family members lifted the dead body for last rites.
