JAMMU, Oct 1: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit here today staged a protest demonstration demanding reservation in Government and private sector jobs in J&K for locals of the Union Territory (UT).
The protesters also demanded regularisation of daily wagers in J&K and age relaxation for Government jobs.
The protest was led by Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni who urged the J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, to give age relaxation especially to those daily wagers who have not been regularised and have crossed the upper age limit.
He said that the UT of Ladakh has also given two years relaxation in age limit along with reservation of jobs to locals there under Employment Service Recruitment Rules 2021.
Sahni claimed that unemployment has increased in J&K due to the abrogation of Article 370 and COVID-19 pandemic.
He said that J&K is worse than rest of the country in terms of unemployment and demanded a special recruitment policy.
Women Wing president of Shiv Sena, Meenakshi Chhibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli, Balwant Singh, Sandeep Bhagat; president Reasi; Bhuri Singh, president R.S Pura; Balvir Singh, president Akhnoor; Satish Sharma, Tarsem, Preeti Sharma and others were also present in the protest.
