Juvenile among four arrested with ganja, poppy straw

JAMMU, Sept 25: Bahu Fort and Narwal Police arrested four persons including a juvenile along with 8 kilograms of ganja and 13.450 kilograms poppy straw.
As per police sources, during routine checking near Panama Chowk, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort intercepted three persons including a juvenile coming from Narwal side towards Panama Chowk.
During checking, police team recovered 8 kilograms of ganja from the possession of these three persons and arrested them.
The two arrested persons were identified as Laxman Dass Vaishnav alias Ajay and Parshotam Dass Vaishnav, sons of Gautam Dass Vaishnav, residents of Chhattisgarh, while the name of juvenile has been kept withheld.
A case under FIR Number 313/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, a joint team from Police Station Bahu Fort and Police Post Narwal laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AR-3044.
During checking, police team recovered 13.450 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Kirpal Singh, son of Chatar Singh of Gundah Tehsil Khwass District Rajouri, at present Mishriwala District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 314/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention here that on the direction of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli, a special drive has been launched to break the chain of drug menace.
Police team led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by SI Achal Rana, PSI Farmeen Choudhary and PSI Murtza Rehman made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar and SP South Deepak Digra.
