Rajouri youth’s murder solved; sister, boy friend among 3 held

RAJOURI, Aug 16: With the arrest of deceased’s sister, her boy friend and another youth, Rajouri police today claimed to have solved blind murder of 27-year-old, Ankit Bakshi, son of Bachan Lal, resident of Chakli village in Chingus area of district Rajouri.
SSP Rajouri, Sheema Nabi Qasba while addressing press conference late this evening, disclosed that Special Investigation Team led by ASP, Vivek Shekhar and DySP, Hqs Vinod Sharma, has managed to crack the blind murder case of Ankit Bakshi, who was brutally done to death on the intervening night of Aug-10-11, 2021 at village Chakli, leading to massive protest and highway blockade by public on the next day.
She disclosed that the SIT on the basis of call details and cross questioning of the suspects, managed to discover that Rajan and Priya were in relationship with each other. Later, the team got more details and ultimately managed to crack the case within 72 hours of the incident. Ankit came to know about it and he warned his sister and also the boy- Rajan to stay away from this affair. He and his parents were deadly against this relationship. Then girl along with her boy-friend hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Ankit. On the changing statements of the girl, the police suspected some foul play within the family.
The police said that all the three accused including sister, Priya Bakshi (21), daughter of Bachan Lal of Chakli village; her boy friend -Rajan Sharma (22), son of Vijay Kumar, resident of Chingus and his associate, Mehmood (Name changed), resident of Sangpur have been arrested. All the three have confessed their crime and the weapons of offence have also been recovered. A case FIR No. 538/ 2021 under Sections 302/458 IPC stand registered against the accused persons.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ankit Bakshi was murdered with sharp edged weapons while sleeping at home at village Chakli in Chingus during midnight of August 10-11. He was going to be married in next three months. He belonged to a poor family and was working as private electrician in the area. The locals of the area are shell- shocked over the disclosure.
