JDF submits memo to Div Com for docs’ safety, improvement of healthcare system

JAMMU, Aug 6: A deputation of Jammu Doctors Forum (JDF) today met son of the soil and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer at his office chamber and submitted a memorandum seeking doctors’ safety and improvement of healthcare system in Jammu and Kashmir.
The memorandum with the subject “Safety of Doctors from Assault while Working in Hospitals and Improving Healthcare” was handed over to the Divisional Commissioner by JDF president Dr Satya Dev Gupta along with members of medical fraternity including Dr CL Gupta, Dr JG Langer, Dr Pawan Malhotra (Principal ASCOMS), senior orthopaedics Dr Dara Singh, Dr Rajinder Singh, Dr Dushyant Choudhary (JDF general secretary).
They also honoured Dr Raghav Langer with a memento and shawl. Division Commissioner reciprocated the deputation members with a gesture over a cup of tea. The dialogues and meaningful exchange of words of past days were exchanged in the stipulated meeting.
It was impressed upon that guidelines enshrined in Supreme Court Judgments shall be issued to the police authorities to prevent arrest and harassment of the doctors. As far as health care was concerned, Dr Raghav Langer assured for all the possible endeavours, and JDF asserted for extending a helping hand as and when required.
Dr Raghav Langer a member of medical fraternity and the youngest Divisional Commissioner of Jammu. He is presently on deputation from his parent Uttrakhand cadre where he won acclaims for his work as DC, particularly in streamlining the administration, rehabilitation and welfare measures in the aftermath of the unfortunate Kedarnath tragedy. Dr Langer has served as Chief of ERA, DC Kathua and DC Pulwama in J&K.
