JAMMU, May 28: With a mission to provide cleanliness during the pandemic, former State president BJP and Ex Minister, Sat Sharma (CA) and BJP leader and corporator Ward 41, Sanjay Kumar Baru started construction of deep drains at main road Patta Chungi, Bohri.
The BJP leaders were also accompanied by locals and political activists of the area.
The works will be constructed under the supervision of UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) at an estimated cost of Rs 16.25 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was indeed a long pending demand of the inhabitants which has been met today and he said that the mission behind this was to provide a conducive and clean atmosphere to the public in these pandemic times. He said the works on every deep drain (Nullahs) were taken up during his tenure as MLA and majority of the deep drains were either constructed or cleaned which has helped a lot in achieving the mission of “Clean Jammu”.
He stated that efforts are still being made to provide every possible assistance to the masses at their doorsteps for which he appealed to the inhabitants to contribute in keeping their surroundings neat and clean.
He also stated that providing a neat and clean environment is the mission of Narendra Modi led Central Government and wherever required channelizing of deep drains will be done to provide best infra to the public. He also added that in these pandemic times helping each other is the best way to overcome many problems which will ultimately benefit humanity.
Sanjay Baru said that more than 70 percent lanes and drains in Ward No 41 have been constructed in last two years despite the pandemic. This has become possible only because of the development agenda of Modi Government which is working tirelessly for serving it’s people.
Baru complimented former MLA and UEED for starting a long pending work and stated that this work will have an impact on thousands of inhabitants of the Ward. He also stated that there are many more works will also be taken up in coming days so that a Model Ward could be built in the coming times.
