RAMNAGAR, Mar 15: Agitated over increasing number of bovine smuggling incidents in the area, several prominent social and religious organizations today protested against alleged failure of Police authorities and also called for complete bandh in Ramnagar town on Tuesday.
The protesting people were particularly annoyed over purported suspension of four Policemen, who had successfully foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling in Ramnagar but instead of rewarding them, senior officers placed them under suspension.
All the social and religious organizations of Ramnagar, including Beopar Mandal, Hindu Jagran Manch and others took part in the protest demonstration. They alleged a nexus between bovine smugglers and senior Police officers.
On the occasion, these organizations called for a complete bandh in Ramnagar on March 16 and announced to intensify the struggle if guilty officers are not shifted immediately.
