JAMMU, Feb 16: Rejecting statehood demand for J&K, the All India Backward Classes Union (Social), has demanded granting constitutional rights to the OBCs in J&K UT.
In a meet of the Union which took place under the chairmanship of its president Abdul Majid Malik, the matter of statehood was threadbare discussed. They said OBCs never demanded restoration of statehood rather always demanded their constitutional rights before and after the abrogation of Article 370.
The Union Home Minster made statement on the floor of the House on August 5, 2019, the day of passing the Bill for abrogation of Article 370 that OBCs of the state would get more benefit but nothing happened.
The executive members unanimously rejected the statehood demand and pleaded for constitutional rights of the state OBCs under `One Nation, One Law’.
The prominent participants included-MR Bangotra, Kewal Krishan Fotra, Prof Kali Dass, Shashi Verma, Balkar Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Vipan Kumari, Sonia Verma and others.
