Srinagar, Feb 16: Police today said to have arrested a man from Awantipora while he was trying to extort money from an individual near village Barsoo Awantipora on National Highway.
Arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh S/o Abdul Rehman Sheikh R/o Dalwach Beerwah Budgam.
“1 Toy Pistol, 1 knife and 4 live round of SLR has been recovered from the arrested person,” police said.
Police said that a case FIR No. 23/2020 U/S 307,392,511 IPC 7/25, 28 Arms Act has been registered in Police Station Awantipora.
“Any connection of the arrested person with terrorists for possessing 4 rounds of SLR is being investigated,” police said.
