SAMBA, May 14: A week long mega Lok Adalat held under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority and Principal, District and Sessions Judge and SS Bali, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee concluded at District Courts Complex, here today.
During the Lok Adalat, two benches were constituted. First bench comprised of Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, SS Bali, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee and SS Sambyal, Advocate. The second bench comprised of SS Bali, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee and assisted by Anjum Ara, Additional Munsiff, Geeta Kumar, Munsiff, Satish Dutta, SK Khanmotra, Shashi Bhushan Thappa and RS Jamwal, Advocates.
A total of 53 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat out of which 43 cases were settled. An amount of Rs 32,24,000 was awarded as compensation in favour of the claimants.
