JAMMU, May 5: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of its president M L Thusoo alleged that State and Central Governments were unconcerned over the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits who are leading an exiled life within their country for a quarter century now.
Mr Thusoo said the policies of the Government are leading towards the extinction of the community that has been a cause of concern and this is the reason that the PM’s employment package has remained unimplemented till date. The arbitrary conditions attached to the package don’t tempt highly educated youth to return, he added.
He however favoured the twin city concept given by interlocutors for rehabilitation of the community.
P L Koul Badgami convener of the KHC urged the community activists to rise to the occasion and speed up their struggle for survival of the community. He alleged that the State Government was deliberately adding salt to the injuries of the community with its policies which is evident from the recently released Rajya Sabha report, he added.
K L Ganjoo said the silence over the return of community by the majority community of Kashmir has created doubts on return of the community which is otherwise symbol of Kashmiri heritage.
