RAJOURI: Nov 25: Terming Article 370 as biggest roadblock in the rights of Tribals , BJP general secretary and ex MLC, Vibodh Gupta has said that reservation to ST community in DDC elections is testimony that Modi Government is committed to empower Gujjars, Bakerwals and Paharis .
Addressing series of public gathering in support of BJP’s candidate, Asif Choudhary in Dongi constituency of Rajouri, Vibodh said that despite having nearly major chunk of population in J&K, the socio-economically disadvantaged Tribal community had no political reservation and Tribals residing in forests since generations had no rights or protection. “J&K was only State in India with no Tribal rights”, Vibodh said that abrogation of Article 370 has extended every right to the Tribals on the pattern of other regions of the country.
“Modi Government has reserved seats for ST community only because it wanted to empower this community”, he said, adding that Scheduled Tribes & other Traditional forest dwellers rights will be protected under the Forest Rights Act, 2006 which has been now made applicable to them to protect their rights.
“The biggest beneficiary of abrogation of Article 370 are Tribals as they are going to get every right for which they have struggled hard for the last 60 years”, he added.
Accusing “Gupkar Gang” as elements having anti national ideology, Gupta said that those who are against flag of India are anti nationals and misleading forces. “They are puppets of Pakistan and China”, Gupta said without naming particular leader.
He also appealed people to vote in support of Asif Choudhary in Doongi.
Speaking on the occasion veteran BJP leader and former MP, Ch. Talib Hussain highlighted various developmental schemes of PM Narendra Modi and maintained that the people of Rajouri especially Gujjar community has been empowered in last few years. He alleged that the previous regimes made false promises and commitment with the people of Peer-Panjal but the Modi Government delivered justice to us by ending the age-long discrimination.
Talib said that voting and electing BJP candidates during DDC elections will further strengthen Modi’s hands and J&K will be on path of development, peace and prosperity.
