JAMMU, Nov 21: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Traffic Police Jammu City launched drive against illegal encroachment in Janipur area.
As per official spokesman, a joint team of JMC and Traffic Police Jammu City on the direction of Commissioner JMC and SSP Traffic Shiv Kumar Sharma conducted drive against illegal reharies, pharies and encroachers causing traffic congestion and obstructing free flow of traffic and movement of pedestrians on footpath in High Court-Janipur road.
The enforcement staff of JMC and a team of Traffic Police City Jammu led by DTI Janipur Inspector Zahoor Khan undertook a joint drive and visited the area of Janipur and removed the goods kept by shopkeepers for encroaching upon footpaths and pavements in front of their business establishment causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and obstruction in the smooth free flow of traffic.
During the drive, the team of JMC and Traffic Police removed a large number of illegal reharies and many wrongly parked vehicles were dealt in accordance with law.
The team of JMC and Traffic Police has appealed to the reharies owners to ply their reharies in the rehari zones or location formulated by JMC. They were also directed to not encroach footpaths.
