JAMMU, Sept 14: A father murdered his son in Gajansoo area of city outskirts today.
According to a police official, a man identified as Krishan Lal son of Chunni Lal, resident of Kirpalpur, tehsil Marh of district Jammu, brutally murdered his 35-year-old son namely Raj Kumar over some land issue during the intervening night of September 13 and 14.
He said that as per the statement recorded by Nisha Devi, wife of the deceased man, she along with her husband namely Raj Kumar were sleeping in the yard of the house and her father in law had also slept in the ‘veranda’.
The woman alleged that she suddenly woke up and saw that her father in law was hitting her husband with an unknown blunt object, due to which her husband died on the spot. The woman said that she made a hue and cry and called the Panch of the area on the spot.
“Before this incident at about 2200 hrs, a scuffled broke between her husband and her father-in-law over some land dispute,” she claimed.
The official said that on the basis of the statement of the woman, a case FIR Number 151/2020 under Section 302 IPC was registered in Kanachak police station and investigation of the case started.
He said that the FSL team was called on spot and after photography, videography and other legal formalities in presence of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Suram Singh, the dead body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after getting done postmortem at GMC Jammu. “The accused was arrested and the weapon of offence seized,” he added.
