JAMMU, Sept 2: Government has accorded sanction to the constitution of the Jammu and Kashmir Biodiversity Council.
According to the order, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests J&K will be the Chairman of the Council, while Director, Forest Research Institute J&K as Member Secretary.
Representative of Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment (now below the rank of Additional Secretary), Representative of Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (now below the rank of Additional Secretary), Representative of Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare (now below the rank of Additional Secretary), Dr CM Seth Eminent Wildlife Expert, Dr Om Prakash Sharma, Eminent Biodiversity Expert, Prof Geeta Sumbli Mushroom Expert, Prof Anzar Khuroo from Department of Botany University of Kashmir and Dr Sushil Verma, Division of Biodiversity, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri will be the members of the Council.
