JAMMU, Sept 2: Chairing the first executive body meeting here today, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) president Mohd Altaf Bukhari today demanded economic package for businessmen, traders, industrialist, hoteliers, transporters, farmers and others who have suffered huge losses due to COVID-19 lockdown in the Union Territory.
“The Government should support the business community, traders, small shopkeepers, people associated with tourism industry, industrialist and the farmers with an economic package to revive shattered economy and it will help in infusing new life to the sinking market and generate employment opportunities,” Bukhari said.
JKAP leader said that the Government should frame a comprehensive policy to overcome the losses suffered by the people and many have also lost their employment in the organised and unorganized sector of Jammu and Kashmir, too.
The members who attended the meeting include senior vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir, vice presidents Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Ch Zulfikar Ali and Usman Majeed, general secretary Vijay Bakaya, Vikram Malhotra, Provincial president Manjit Singh, Provincial vice president Syed Asgar Ali and Incharge Woman Wing of Jammu Province Namrita Sharma. Besides, the meeting was also attended by the JKAP senior leader and Ex-Minister Mohammed Dillawar Mir.
Meanwhile, Ex MLA Dr Kamal Arora and Ex-MLA Mumtaz Khan joined the meeting as special invitees. Many issues especially on present political scenario of J&K were discussed.
JKAP executive also decided to launch membership drive and constitute district level committees. JKAP president asked the leaders to highlight the issues of public concern while remaining in the field among the people. In the absence of an elected Government, the JKAP leaders were directed to work a bridge to facilitate redressal of their issues especially.
Meanwhile, a large number of women political activists from various parties under the leadership of Namrata Sharma, joined the JKAP in present of party president Altaf Bukhari here today. Bukhari welcomed all the women activists in the party fold and said that it will further strength the party in Jammu region. Prominent among those who joined are- Rajni Sangra, Komal Vaid, Manju Mishra, Deepika Mahajan, Namrita Gupta, Pavneet Kour and others.
