SAMBA, Aug 4: Continuing its drive against the menace of illicit trade of liquor, district police, Samba arrested a bootlegger and recovered 25 bottles of illicit liquor under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
Acting on a tip off, a police party of PS Samba laid a Naka at Shah Balode, Samba and intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK08D-9166 which was moving towards Nud.
While checking, a total of 25 bottles of JK Special Whisky of 375 ml each were recovered. The accused person identified as Munna Singh, S/o Mehandi Singh of Sarna, Samba who was carrying the illicit liquor trade in the area for his illegitimate profit has been arrested on spot and illicit liquor was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 205/2020 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act was registered at P/S Samba and investigation started.
