JAMMU, July 25: BJP senior leader and former State president of the party, Ashok Khajuria has blamed the Congress for the over 30 year long turmoil in J&K and said it was because of the wrong policies adopted by the Congress Governments right from Nehruvian era that J&K is facing the present crisis and turmoil.
He, while making a scathing attack on the Congress party and PCC leadership said instead of having introspection that who was responsible for the present mess in J&K right from 1947, they are pointing fingers on BJP and accusing it for the blunders of Congress.
Khajuria said it was Congress which brought the provision of 370 in Indian Constitution though opposed by its own leaders, but Jawahar Lal Nehru for pleasing Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah turned down the suggestions of his party colleagues as well as Jana Sangh which opposed the special status to J&K tooth and nail.
He said it was because of this unwanted extra Constitutional position given to J&K that led to separatism and present mess for which Congress owes an answer to the people of this nation.
Lambasting Congress for opposing Narendra Modi Government for mishandling COVID crisis, he said that it was with the able and best leadership of Modi that country succeeded in combating the Pandemic to a great extent. Had the Congress been at the helm of affairs God knows what would have happened to this nation. Khajuria asked the Congress leaders that instead of pointing fingers on BJP they should have an introspection that how they harmed the nation during their six decade long misrule.
He also made a dig at Apni Party for demanding restoration of Statehood to J&K and said that BJP is committed to the same and it will be done at appropriate time as both PM as well as Home Minister had announced this in parliament after annulling the controversial Article 370 and 35 (a).
