KATHUA Mar 10: In a major success against smuggling of narcotics, Kathua police today seized nine quintals of poppy straw.
As per reports, a team from Police Station Kathua under the directions of Inspector, Arvind Sambyal, SHO, Kathua during checking duty near Housing Colony, Shiva Nagar seized nine quintals of Poppy Straw packed in 37 bags being smuggled in the truck bearing Registration Number, JK02V-8927 which was registered in the name of Mohd Javed, S/o, Bashir Ahmed of Seela, Reasi.
Police team seized the narcotics along with the truck and registered a case FIR No 82/19 U/S 8/15/18 NDPS Act.
Police said this is major recovery since the war on drugs was launched by Kathua Police with the help of citizens.
