9 injured in Mendhar mishap

POONCH, Jan 6: Nine persons were injured, when a Tata Sumo vehicle landed into a gorge in Salwah area on Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district today.
A police spokesman said that  the mishap took place when vehicle No JK14-0535 was on  its way to Salwah from Mendhar under  Police Station Mendhar jurisdiction. The driver lost control  on the vehicle and it landed into a gorge at around 4.30 pm today.
13 persons including driver were on board the vehicle. Nine persons were injured and shifted to Sub District Hospital Mendhar by police and locals of the area.
The injureds’ were identified as Mohd Farid (30), son of Mohd Safi; Firdous Fatima (17), daughter of Mohd Farooq;  Nazia Kousar (34), wife of Farid Ahmed ; Habibul Rahman (30), son of  Abdul Sadiq; Safir Akhtar (36), wife of Tabbasum Ali of Salwah; Zaheer (One year), son of  Imtiyaaz Ahmed- all are residents of Salwah village; Samia Kousar (21), wife of  Imtiyaaz Ahmed ; Mehmood Ahmed (40), son of Mohd Aslam are residents of Bhera village.
Injured were admitted to Sub District Hospital Mendhar and condition of all of them was stated to be stabled. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
