MENDHAR, Oct 17: Nine employees of the ICDS Wing of Social Welfare Department in Balakote block were placed under suspension today.
Official sources said that acting on the public complaints that CDPO and the staff often remains absent from duty in the Balakote block of ICDS project, the SDM Mendhar on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, M H Malik sent a team led by Tehsildar and Naib Tehilsar to the project office today, which found that most of the staff was absent and two employees who were there in the office had not marked their attendance for the last couple of days and other absentee staff also had not marked attendance for the last about two weeks.
Taking cognizance of the matter the team seized the register and then spoke to the DC and SDM. On their directions, they placed all the nine employees including four Supervisors of the project under suspension. An explanation of the CDPO who has additional charge of this project was also called by the DC.
Those suspended are- Mohd Rafiq senior assistant, Mohd Mushtaq junior assistant; Mohd Aslam, Shamim Akhtar, Zahoor Ali, Shaheen Akhtar and Majida Begum- all Supervisiors; Paritam Singh driver and Mohd Taz and Kushal Hussain both Class-IV employees. Their salary was also stopped.
