85 rolls of banned synthetic thread seized, 6 arrested

JAMMU, Aug 4: Satwari, Bagh-e-Bahu, Nehru Market and Chatha Police seized 85 rolls of banned synthetic thread and arrested six persons.
As per police sources, in a drive against the sale of banned synthetic threads, various raids were conducted in different locations by teams from Police Station Satwari led by SHO Inspector Deepak Jasrotia, Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu led by SHO Inspector Kirti Sharma, Police Post Nehru Market led by SI Rohit Gandhi and Police Post Chatha led by Inspector Rakesh Roshan.
During raids, the teams seized 85 rolls of banned synthetic thread and arrested six persons, who were identified as Ankit Kumar, son of Satyapal Singh of Muzzaffar Nagar Uttar Pradesh at present Ajeet Nagar, Surinder Kumar, son of Barita Ram of Gorkha Nagar District Jammu, Raj Kumar, son of Pyara Lal of Bazigir Basti Bahu Fort District Jammu, Ankush Sharma, son of Roop Lal Sharma of Gorkha Nagar District Jammu, Happy Kumar, son of Jaswinder Lal of Phinder, RS Pura and Dhiraj Kumar, son of Sardari Lal of Shiv Mohalla Ward Number 5 Hakkal Chatha.
The arrests were made for violating DM order regarding ban on sale of plastic/synthetic threads.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Satwari and Bagh-e-Bahu and investigation started to ascertain the source of the banned threads.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of SDPO City South PK Mengi and SDPO East Bikram Kumar.
