JAMMU, Jan 30: In continuation to anti-encroachment drive of the Government against illegal encroachers, around 8321 kanal State land have been retrieved till date in the districts of Ramban, Reasi, Doda, Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri.
The district administration Ramban today retrieved more than 2377 kanal State land across eight tehsils of the district. In a joint anti encroachment drive led by Tehsildar Ramban Rafiq Ahmed, a chunk of State land at Ward Number 7 (Maitra) falling within the Municipal Limit Ramban was retrieved besides demolishing illegal structures in Maitra and Parnote area including illegal building of a private school and a commercial building complex constructed on encroached land.
As per the Revenue Department of Ramban, during joint anti-encroachment drives, the teams of Revenue, Police and other concerned officers and officials demolished illegal structures build on State land besides retrieving more than 2377 kanal State land worth crores of rupees from the encroachers including 1524 kanal in Pogal-Paristan, 748 kanal in Ramban, 50 kanal in Banihal, 30 kanal in Khari, 18 kanal in Ramsoo and 6 kanal in Batote.
In district Reasi, State land measuring 144613 kanal and 13 marlas have been evicted till date. In continuation of the drive, Tehsildar Pouni today retrieved 13 kanal and 7 marlas prime land at villages Bealuian and Ransoo, Tehsildar Reasi retrieved 96 kanal, Tehsildar Thakrakote 338 kanals 18 marlas and Tehsildar Thuroo retrieved 1050 kanals worth crores of rupees.
The district administration Jammu today evacuated more than 63 kanal prime state land worth crores of rupees at different places of the district. During a demolition drive, a team of revenue officers and police demolished 3 illegal ‘pucca’ structures including boundary walls and retrieved prime state land measuring 21 kanal in village Deeli near Tawi Farm Bishnah Bridge. A chunk of State land measuring 12 kanal was also retrieved in village Gole tehsil of Jammu West while State land measuring 23 kanal 9 marla in village Ghaink of tehsil Bhalwal was also retrieved today.
In district Doda, State land worth more than Rs 10 crores has been evicted. Around 3 kanal commercial land worth crores of rupees was retrieved on Ring Road alongside the Bus Stand by removing encroachments. Similarly, 12 kanal prime state land falling under Khasra Number 803 was retrieved alongside National Highway by demolishing an under-construction column structure. Likewise, a multi-storey under-construction illegal structure was also sealed and taken over by the Government at Thathri.
Meanwhile, District Administration Kathua intensified its ongoing anti-encroachment drives in the district.
The major retrieval by Revenue teams includes approximately 733 kanals encroached State Land which was later handed over to Industries/SIDCO Department in Budhi. The evicted state land in village Budhi is worth crores of rupees.
In a joint anti- encroachment drive, a team of revenue officers along with police and other concerned officials today retrieved state land measuring 3635 kanal 10 Marlas in Rajouri.
The DC has exhorted upon the ACR and Tehsildar to intensify the eviction and demolition drive in collaboration with police and other concerned in coming days so that the given target is achieved.
