83 PoK, Indian civilian exchange sides at Chakkan-da-Bagh in Poonch

JAMMU, July 15: As many as 83 civilians from India and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (POK) today exchanged sides in a weekly Poonch-Rawalakot bus service via Chakkan-da-Bagh along Line of Control in Poonch district.

“Sixty eight civilians including ten fresh Indian citizens and 58 PoK residents, who completed their stipulated stay on this side of the border this afternoon went across the LoC in a weekly bus when the gates were thrown open at 1431 hrs,” an official here told reporters.

He said from other side of the LoC, 14 fresh PoK residents reached Poonch while one Indian national returned back after completing his stay in PoK.

“The gates were closed at 1445 hrs while senior police and administrative officials were also present on the spot,” he added. (AGENCIES)
