8 die of Corona, J&K toll nears 900

392 fresh cases in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 14: Kashmir today reported 392 fresh cases of COVID-19 taking the Jammu and Kashmir tally to 55,325 while eight persons died of COVID-19 in the Valley as the J&K death toll inched closer to 897.
Those who tested positive today include 119 from Srinagar, 77 Budgam, 16 Baramulla, 40 Pulwama, 24 Anantnag, 17 Kupwara, 45 Bandipora, 2 Kulgam, 43 Ganderbal and 8 from Shopian.
There are 11,797 positive cases including 252 deaths and 9,614 recoveries from Srinagar; 3,819 including 73 deaths and 2,354 recoveries from Budgam; 3,495 including 2,415 recoveries and 113 deaths from Baramulla; 3,059 including 2,682 recoveries and 62 deaths from Pulwama; 2,919 including 54 deaths and 2,159 recoveries from Anantnag; 2,863 including 1,886 recoveries and 57 deaths from Kupwara; 2,883 cases including 1,932 and 29 deaths from Bandipora; 2,093 including 1,921 recoveries and 40 deaths from Kulgam; 2,146 including 1,557 recoveries and 26 deaths from Ganderbal and 1,804 including 1,691 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Shopian.
Out of 55,325 positive cases from Jammu and Kashmir, 37,100 are from Kashmir. There are 28,211 recoveries from Kashmir.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 18,049 including 8,154 from Kashmir division.
With 644 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 36,381 which is 65.75 percent of the total cases which was over 78 percent few days before.
And since COVID-19 outbreak, the number of active cases have reached over 18,000 in J&K for the first time.
Out of 1,248,495 number of samples processed in Jammu and Kashmir,193,170 have tested negative and 55,325 positive and out of these 18,049 are active and 37,100 persons have recovered.
And today eight persons died of COVID-19 in the Valley as the J&K death toll inched closer to 900.
Among the victims, two each are residents of Budgam and Pulwama while one each was from Srinagar, Kupwara, Bandipora and Ganderbal.
Two of the deaths in the Valley were reported from SKIMS Soura and includes a 70-year-old man from Lalbazar Srinagar who was admitted on September 13 and diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, hypertension, T2DM and CKD. He had cardiopulmonary arrest.
The other victim was a 70-year-old woman from Lalpura Kunzar Tangmarg in district Baramulla who was admitted on September 8 and was diagnosed with HTN with old stroke with severe COVID Pneumonia.
The victim from Kupwara was a 70-year-old woman from Hyhama Kupwara who was admitted to SMHS Hospital on September 10 and diagnosed as a case of bilateral community acquired pneumonia.
The Ganderbal death is a 90-year-old woman who died at her home, two hours after she tested positive. She was contact of a positive person who informed the authorities that there was woman at her home whose condition is very serious. Her sample was taken and she died after two hours while she tested positive for the virus. The other victims were two residents of Budgam and Pulwama. With these deaths, 897 people have died in Jammu and Kashmir.
