UDHAMPUR, June 17: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Latti and rescued eight bovine animals besides arresting the alleged smuggler.
Acting on reliable information, a police team from Police Station Latti, intercepted a group of eight bovines near the Chappad area, where these animals were being taken on foot without any valid permission.
Police rescued all the bovines and also arrested the alleged smuggler, identified as Mohd. Shabir, son of Abdul Gani of Jig, Chenani. In this regard, a case has been registered at Police Station Latti under the relevant sections of law.
