8 bovines rescued

POONCH, June 8: The police foiled a bovines smuggling attempt in Poonch area and rescued eight cattle from the clutches of smuggler and handed over to `Gaushala’.
Official sources said that a joint naka was established to keep check on bovine smuggling by Revenue department under the supervision of Naib Tehsildar Syed Tarif Hussain Shah with Police on the directions of SSP Poonch Vinay Sharma in Surankote area.
During checking the team intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing Registration number JK11/0485 at Behramgalla which was driven by Khalid Mehmood, son of Niaz Ahmed from Behrot, Thanamandi. It was on way to Kashmir from this side. During checking eight bovines loaded with utmost cruelty were found and rescued.
On this a case FIR number 128/2023 under section188 IPC/11 PC Act stands registered at PS Surankote.
