8 bovines rescued, 3 vehicles seized

UDHAMPUR, Mar 27: The police rescued eight bovines and seized three vehicles used for the smuggling of milch animals in Tikri area of Udhampur today.
Official sources said that a police team from Police Post Tikri led by Insp Nishad Ahmed and assisted by PSI Sahil Singh foiled bovine smuggling bid in which 08 cattle were rescued and three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02BJ- 7340 (Mahindra Pickup truck), HR51AK- 0821 (Mahindra Scorpio) and JK02X 0004 (Hyundai Accent) seized.
Accused person namely Kaluk, son of Rashid resident of Bali Nallah, Udhampur (driver of JK02BJ 7340) got arrested on spot while the other two drivers fled the spot after leaving their vehicles at Bansa Morh (Scorpio) and Bikhangala (Hyundai Accent) respectively.
In this regard, three cases FIRs under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Rehambal and further investigation of the cases is underway.
